Neophytos Monastery. 
Neophytos Monastery is situated within 10 km. from the north of Cyprus.In 1159 a monk called Neophytos in search of retirement and moved out to a grotto. From his whole life, 65 years he lived in a cell. But has retirement lasts not too long as soon near him was formed a circle of disciples and later on there was built a monastery there. The relics of Neophytos are kept in a wooden sarcophagus. Every year on September 28, which is considered the day of this holy one numerous pilgrims came here for prostration. The walls in the monastery are adorned with frescoes from 12 century. It is one of the most beautiful monasteries on Cyprus. Also here the visitors can buy fresh mountain honey.
