In February take place a carnival inherited from Venetian epoch. It starts 60 days before Easter.
Very colorful is the parade of masked which takes part in February-March in Limassol. Numerous local people and guests of Cyprus participate at this fiesta. The participants wear national or fancy dresses.
On the special stages are conveyed huge carnival figures, colorful arrangements and papier-mache.
Anthestiria holiday is celebrated in May. This is the holiday of the flowers. In May-June is celebrated Cataclysms. This holiday happen to be at the same time as Trinity holiday. It is in honour of the Flood. In the coastal cities, especially in Larnaca in this day passes parades and trade fairs.
In July starts a festival in Limassol. First it was considered as a folk festival, but in the last years it is dedicated to the cinema and drama festivals. All this undertakings take place in a serf courtyard.
In September is celebrated wine holiday. For two weeks in the municipal park take place different undertakings regarding this holiday.
There is a custom at New Year to cook a semolina cake and to put a silver coin in the pastry. That who will get that piece with the coin inside will be the luckiest person for all year.
