Chrysorogiatissa Monastery.

Chrysorogiatissa Monastery is set within 38 km to the North from Troodos.
The monastery was founded in 12 century, but has been refurbished in 18 century. It was built in honor of Saint Maria with Golden Pomegranate. Based on that fact that pomegranate was the religious fruit of goddess Aphrodite, the scientific researches suppose that the monastery was founded on the site of the former goddess's sanctuary. Visitors can buy excellent wines, which are produced here and are famous on the whole island.
